Villajoyosa is located in the province of Alicante, it delights with an exceptionally beautiful old town, wonderful beaches and the most important attraction is the Valor chocolate factory. Villajoyosa is a small town of around 30,000 people, situated between the famous holiday resort of Benidorm (14 kilometers) and the provincial capital of Alicante (35 kilometers). The locals, who are said to be particularly happy people, take great pride in their town and the fact that they live there. They affectionately call their city “La Vila”. What is the town of Villajoyosa famous for? The city is famous primarily for 3 things: unusual, colorful houses located in the Old Town, wonderful beaches with clear crystal water and delicious chocolate, which is made in the local Valor factory, and right next to the factory there are small chocolate museums where you can try sweet delicacies. The highlight is the Old Town of Villajoyosa, which used to be a traditional fishing village. To this day, the city has retained much of its original character, and the old colourful houses have become the city’s showpiece. A breath-taking beautiful promenade with numerous palm trees, cozy restaurants and cafes serving amazing Spanish food from which you can admire the beautiful background. Also, worth seeing are the historic city walls, some of which are still well preserved.
The beaches of Villajoyosa are breath-taking and must be visited. Each of the beaches offers something different, one is long and sandy with many palm trees, another is a cove with amazing views and even a nudist beach.
